TYPES OF LENSES AND ACCOMPANYING HIS CONVENIENCE

"What's going in the photo?" or
"What most noticeably the lack of kit lens?" or
"Lenses like what he wants?" and the like.
Choosing a lens in my opinion is a personal preference, one form of manifestation of personality and joy in photography. The lenses are suitable for one person is not necessarily appropriate for another. For example there is a friend who suggested using Tamron 17-50 mm lens kit as a substitute because it is more sharp. But I'm not too concerned with extra sharpness, which I really need is a telephoto lens with a good distance, so then I bought Tamron 18-200 mm a "he" is not sharp, slow, heavy, etc..

However, we may classify the lenses in several classes:

1. Standard zoom lens is a vario lens with focal length that can be changed and the maximum aperture opening changes according to the distance focus. These lenses are suitable for a variety of personal documentation purposes. 18-55 mm kit lens, 18-70 mm, 28-80 mm, and the like including these types of lenses. Because quality is potluck, many of which want a better alternative. For example: for a wider zoom range to choose from 18-105 mm, 28-135 mm, 28-200 mm, and so on. For more sharpness usually used Tamron 17-50 mm or 16-80 mm Carl Zeiss

2. Prime lenses have a fixed focal distance so that the quality and sharpness are very baik.Akan but photographers have a lot of walking to adjust the composition and proportions of the photo. Lenses of this type include 50 mm f/1.8. Alternatively, for example, 50 mm f/1.4, 50 mm f/1.2, 85 mm f/3.5, 135 mm f / 4, ff.

3. Wide lens is a lens with short focal distance in order to obtain the space of view (FOV - Field Of View) wider. This kind of lens which includes, among 10-22 mm, 11-18, etc.. Another is to the lens Pegembangan fishye, for example Samyang 8 mm.

4. Fast lens is a lens with wide aperture. The lens has an f/2.8 aperture number, f / 2, f/1.8 or smaller. The advantage, with a wide aperture, it can obtain a higher shutter speed. That's why it earned the nickname fast lens wear. Side effects of a wide aperture lens blur or bokeh is because the DoF (Depth of Field) is narrow.

5. Macro lens is a lens that has a special construction making it possible to photograph objects at close range (50 cm or less). The real macro lens has a 1:1 magnification capability, while the specification that is widely used is 100 mm f/2.8 Macro, 50 mm f/2.8 macro, and so on. However, 3rd party lens manufacturers like Sigma, Tamron, and Tokina developed vario lens with 1:4 macro capability,!: 5 or!: 7, such as the Tamron 18-200 LD Aspherical Macro In II which has a minimum object distance of 45 cm with a magnification of 1:4

6. Super telephoto lens is a lens with a focal length above 180 mm, for example 100-400 mm, 170-500 mm, and so on. The lens type is suitable for shooting sports, wildlife, birdwatching, and other objects that do not allow photographers approach the object directly. Apart from the focus distance and aperture, it should be noted also additional features on the lens that will provide facilities (with corresponding prices), including:

1. Motor high quality lenses are more responsive, thus ensuring that the sharpness of moving objects. Lenses of this type usually have a special code that is different from each manufacturer, for example, SSM (Super Sonic Motor), HSM (High Speed Motor), DX, SAM, etc.

2. Image stabilizer is a useful feature to reduce the shock at the shooting with a low speed. This feature also has a different code, such as IS (Image Stabilizer) to the canon, VR (Vibration Reduction) in Nikon, SSS (Super Steady Shoot) at Sony, etc..

3. Coating (chemical coating optical lens) is an important factor because the response of the digital sensor to light different from the reaction on the film. Problems on the coating can cause flare, chromatic aberration (CA), ghosting, etc.. Digital lenses usually have several layers so it is marked MC (multi coating) generally perform better than the old lenses are still single coating.

4. Is an aspherical lens construction containing aspheric lens elements and serves to reduce the refraction spherical aberration caused by the shape of a convex lens.

5. Low Dispersion optical elements is minimal dispersion (spread) of light, so that the intensity of light reaching the sensor becomes higher and more details are obtained.

the types of photography

Photography is an extensive art form that includes more than just a portrait, landscape or glamorous photography. Both professional and amateur photographers can support certain types of photography over others. While a professional photographer to work in photojournalism, an amateur may be interested in macrophotography. Read on to find out more about the different types of photography.

Photojournalism While amateurs can go into this field without formal training, professional photojournalism is often limited. photojournalism One reason is generally done by professionals is that serious photojournalists must make sure that the shots they maintain the integrity of the original scene.
Photojournalism require photographers to shoot only the facts: no change or decoration photos allowed. Photojournalism images are often powerful images that engage viewers with the news. Knowing how to take pictures to capture genuine emotion is often learned only through years of practice and experience.

Photography Documentary photo stories with pictures. The main difference between photojournalism and documentary photography documentary photography is intended to serve as a document of political or social history of the era, while certain scenes photojournalism documents or samples.
A documentary photographer may shoot a series of pictures of homeless people downtown battle or series of events internationally. Each topic can be the subject of documentary photography. Such as photojournalism, documentary photography trying to show the truth without manipulating the image.

Action Photography While the professionals who take pictures of the action to specialize in a variety of different subjects, sports photography is one of the fastest and most interesting part of photography. Like the action shot, a good sports photographer to know his subject well enough to anticipate when to take a picture. The same rule applies to photographers take pictures of animals in nature or a plane to take off.

Macrophotography Macrophotography describe the field of photography where the picture is taken from close range. Once restricted to photographers with sophisticated and expensive equipment, macrophotography now easier for amateurs to practice with a digital camera with macro setting. Macrophotography subjects may include insects, flowers, textures or objects woven sweaters where the close-up photography reveals details interesting.

Microphotography Microphotography using special cameras and microscopes to capture images of very small subjects. Most applications microphotography most suitable for the scientific world. For example, microphotography is used in disciplines as diverse as astronomy, biology and medicine.

Glamour Photography Glamour photography, is sometimes confused with pornography, it may be sexy and erotic but not pornographic. Instead of focusing on nudity or lurid poses, glamorous photography seeks to capture the subject in suggestive poses that emphasize the curves and shadows. As the name implies, the purpose of glamorous photography is to describe the model in a glamorous light. As a result, many brought glamor shots flirtatious, mysterious and humorous tone.

Aerial photography An air photographer specializes in taking photos from the air. Photos can be used for surveying or construction, to catch birds or weather on a movie or for military purposes. photographers have been using aircraft, ultralights, parachutes, balloons and remote controlled aircraft to take pictures from the air.

Underwater Photography Underwater photography is commonly used by divers or swimmers snorkel. However, the cost of scuba diving, coupled with often expensive photography equipment and weight under water, making it one of the less common types of photography. Similarly, if an amateur has the scuba equipment and know-how, taking pictures under water can be complicated, such as scuba glasses that magnified and distorted vision of the photographer.

Art Photography Artistic photography to embrace a variety of subjects. While the nature photographer can use underwater photography to create a performance art based on marine life, showing a portrait of a photographer might portraitures features artistic black and white. In all cases, the photographs must have aesthetic value of art to be considered.

Portrait Portrait photography is one of the oldest. Is the problem that your family or your pets, portrait goal is to capture the personality of the subject or group of subjects on film.

Wedding Photography Wedding photography is a mixture of different types of photography. Although the wedding album is a documentary of the wedding day, wedding photos can be retouched and edited to produce various effects. For example, a photographer can treat some pictures with sepia toning to give them a look, more classic.
In addition, a wedding photographer must have the ability to portrait photography. He also may have to use glamorous photographic techniques to capture the bride and groom at their best.

Advertising Photography Since photography plays an important role in advertising, many professional photographers devoted their careers to advertising photography. The need for ad copy is unique and eye-catching means photographers can work with several types of photography, including macrophotography and glamorous photography.

Travel Photography Travel photography can span several categories of photography, including advertising, documentary film or photography, especially the vernacular that describe local or historical sense. A travel photographer to capture the feel of a location with both landscape and portrait.

All about Canon SLR part 3

EOS camera auto focus system

In principle, auto focus (AF) on EOS cameras use the AF motor in the lens, in other words all Canon EF lenses have AF motor in it. This is different to that has motorcycle Nikon AF on the camera body (although not all have a Nikon digital SLR AF motor), in other words not all Nikon lenses have AF motor. However, Canon did not treat each with the same lens, which lens provided cheap and expensive lens AF motors of different types and quality.

There are two types of motors in Canon lenses, namely:

* Motor AFD (arc-form drive) or micromotor drives -> for cheap lenses
* Motor USM (ultrasonic motor) -> for expensive lenses

AFD motor is a conventional micro motor and cheap. It poses a rotating magnetic coil when energized electrical voltage. Motor is quiet noisy when spinning and the speed was mediocre. Note that the lens Canon EF / EF-S is not labeled USM motor in it means taking the AFD system (confused with Nikon AF-S lenses that must have been wearing motorcycle SWM).

USM is a new tekolonogi motor that drives the motor with a wave that provides higher speed but with a more refined sound. But again, dividing the Canon USM lenses with this technology into two groups, namely USM lens for expensive and USM lens for an ordinary lens.

The two types of motor USM in Canon lenses, namely:

* Based USM lens ring for expensive (see example image above)
* Based USM micromotor for a cheaper lens

Differences exist both in the working principles and the ability of instant manual focus (FTM: full-time manual). In ring-based USM lens, we can simply turn the manual focus ring anytime we want. So switching from auto focus to manual focus can be done directly without moving the lever AF to MF. When using a non USM lens or lens cheap USM (with micromotor), we have to move the lever just play AF to MF manual focus ring.

Lens with USM or not the code will not affect the optical quality, because only signifies USM AF motor system alone. If you are in everyday life often taking a moving object, or a sporting event and need the fastest performance of the system Canon AF lenses, then choose the lens with USM technology in it.

EF lenses and EF-S

EF lenses (electrofocus) are artificial lenses that have Canon EF mount, so must be compatible with EOS cameras. EF lenses can be mounted on Canon EOS film SLR camera body (35mm) and in the body of any digital EOS, either with the sensor full frame, APS-H and APS-C. EF lenses now has many variants of both types of prime (fixed) or zoom. Even the luxury-class lens from Canon is also widely produced the lens with the code L-series (luxury), which is characterized by a red ring on the end. L series lens has excellent optical qualities and ability to hold thanks to the weather disturbance weathersealing therein.

In 2003 Canon launched the EOS 300D digital SLR (Digital Rebel) with kit lens EF-S 18-55mm. This is the first time introduced the EF-S lenses in Canon's history. EF-S lenses have a diameter image circle is smaller than EF lenses, designed specifically for DSLR with APS-C sensor so that the EF-S lenses can not be used for the EOS 35mm film camera. As for the lens EF and EF-S mount basically have the same shape and also contacts the same electronics, so EOS Digital cameras with APS-C sensor can be fitted with EF lenses (not EF-S lenses). But EF-S lenses are not properly mounted on the EOS Digital camera with a sensor larger than APS-C sensor because although it can be used but will produce a black circle on the edge of the image (vignetting) for EF-S lens diameter is smaller.

The letter 'S' on the code itself EF-S stands for Short (back focus), mean EF-S lenses have a much closer distance between the lens with the sensor.

Now available in the market and also a lot of EF lenses EF-S. If you plan to have a DSLR EOS with full frame sensor like the EOS 5D Mark II, then seek only EF lenses only. But if you feel quite satisfied with EOS DSLR APS-C sensor like the EOS 550D, EOS 60D or EOS 7D, the EF-S lenses can be an option.
